Implementing the Kidz Africa Coach the Coach and Teach the Teacher program, to local young adults, as well as local school teachers, is a vital part of the program. Follow us here, as we grow this program.
Sharon met Morton and Lizzie Thindwa, the Pastors of Blantyre City Church, in Cape Town, at Bay City Church, when Sharon was involved in setting up their wedding. A bond developed from there, and many conversations were had about partnering together, before Morton and Lizzie left to go back to their home country, to plant the Blantyre City Church.
Please read below, a short word from Morton.
Hi everyone, my name is Morton Thindwa. My family and I we came back home here in Malawi on February 2020 from South Africa to start a Church. On September 2020 we started the Church called Blantyre City Church in the City of Blantyre. When i was in South Africa in 2017, i had a conviction that God has called me for a mission. God gave me a vision to come home to start a Church which will create the atmosphere where everyone feels loved and belonging and to equip people for the work of the ministry, so that together we can advance the kingdom of God.
This year i have also started a Youth ministry in our community. I am using sports as a tool to preach the gospel to the youth. So far we have a football team for the boys and a netball team for the girls, i looking forward to start a volleyball team and also to have computer games, play stations so that kids can come to play games and they can have an opportunity to hear the gospel, i have also started a discipleship ministry to the youth in our community. Am using Alpha course series to reach with the good news to the youth.
The main goal is to set people from the bondage of Religion, unsure of their Salvation, tradition and Culture. We want people to who they are in Jesus Christ (identity)( Isaiah 61:1)
