Previously known as The Hebron Project, now @African Child’s Mission. The Hebron Project (THP) is a faith-based NPO that was established in 2016 in Masiphumelele.

The Hebron Project‘s mission is
to provide tangible and measurable social support in areas of poverty that empower the poor to thrive and succeed. Their approach is holistic and grounded in God’s love for His children. The Hebron Project‘s work is the fulfillment of God’s promise in John 14:18.

THP affirm healthy social and emotional development of children, from communities living in sub-economic conditions (i.e., have no running water in the home, often have no food and suitable clothing, and live with chronic overcrowding) in South Africa.

The Hebron Project does the following:

・Provide a pre-school and education funding for unschooled and refugee children.

Empower moms through small business and entrepreneurship so that they can buy food and pay for education and clothing.

Provide food to families that are starving.

・In collaboration with Ukama Foundation, THP co-founded the Amai Upliftment Project which supports and nurtures teen moms, many of whom have been trafficked.

Provide sport opportunities for community children (soccer and squash)

・Spend time in the community learning the culture and challenges they face

An underpinning theme of all of THP’s work is the active raising of awareness of tolerance and acceptance across South Africa’s various cultures and peoples.

Ukama Community Foundation

Creche-C-18

Ukama Community Foundation is a Non-Profit Company founded in 2014 and registered in 2015.

Ukama Community Foundation provides food to over 400 children per day in Township Educare Centres, ensuring that the children receive 2 hot meals per day while at school. They also provide educational materials, clothing, blankets and Easter and Christmas Gifts. The schools they support are in the Vrygrond/ Capricorn and Overcome Heights Area, Western Cape.

Ukama Community School founded in January 2020 in Masiphumelele Township is a school for refugee children whose parents are unable to afford school fees. We take 20 children per year aged 2 to 6 years for our Early Childhood Development program. This program includes Montessori education, outings, hot meals and counselling support for the whole family. We run a full Grade R curriculum for children aged 6.

Ukama Teen Mom Project works in conjunction with The Hebron project to provide 10 Teen Moms with counselling, support and training programmes. The children of the Teen Moms are accommodated in the Education Programme at Ukama Community School.

At the outset of the Covid-19 Outbreak Ukama Community Foundation embarked on our SOUP-er Heroes Project. We supply all the equipment, gas and ingredients for Volunteers in townships to cook hot meals for people in their areas who have been left destitute as a result of Covid-19. We have 10 Soup Kitchens and serve over 4500 meals per week.

Soup Kitchens are situated in the following areas: Ocean View, Masiphumelele, Vrygrond Township and Overcome Heights, all in the Western Cape.

Victory Kids Pre-School VISION
We can’t fix all the problems that affect the children of South Africa. But we can begin with what is in front of us. We want to make a difference in the lives of children at risk by laying foundations for their education. This educational environment will say to them:
You are important. Your actions matter. The future is bright for you.
• Enabling children’s spiritual, emotional, physical and academic growth
• Providing a nurturing environment with loving, caring and qualified teachers
• Inspiring children to dream about how they can positively influence the community in which they live.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
